For over ten years, the Vernon Dragon Riders dragon boat team has spent their leisure time paddling and competing on the Okanagan and area lakes enjoying an awesome, recreational experience.  The goals of this passionate, energetic and fun-loving team are to promote fun, fitness, a sense of personal achievement and a great team spirit.  The camaraderie extends beyond the paddling season in a series of get-togethers and social events.

Practices are held twice a week in the evenings and these help us improve our stroke techniques with the objective being that everyone is synchronized to the beat of the drum. Our practices also help us prepare to compete in several Dragon Boat Festivals in the Okanagan and we can honestly tell you that these events are a lot of fun. 

We are always looking for new paddlers to join our dynamic and spirited fun team.  If you would like to meet new people, learn a new sport and get into shape all at the same time, look no further!  You simply need the drive and commitment to dedicate learning this incredible water sport and we promise that you will reap the rewards just after a few weeks of paddling.
