​A warm welcome to the Vernon Dragon Riders!
We are a diverse team of dedicated, passionate and fun-loving women who share a common love for paddling and spending time on the water in the beautiful setting on Swan Lake.  Our competitive edge and drive steer us to compete in various dragon boat festivals around our beautiful province and these incredible, amazing events enhance an awesome, recreational experience to be treasured.
Our goals are simple.  We promote fitness, fun, great team and community spirit.  Our camaraderie extends beyond the paddling season in a series of get-togethers and social events held throughout the year.  As responsible citizens, we fundraise for and donate to various charities and not-for-profits in the communities in which we live. 
Practices are held twice a week in the evenings and Saturday mornings (optional).  Practices help us improve our stroke techniques, develop our core and endurance. The objective is reached when everyone is synchronized to the beat of the drum.

We are always looking for new paddlers to join our dynamic, spirited and fun team.  If you would like to meet new people, learn a new sport and get into shape all at the same time, look no further!  You simply need the drive and commitment to dedicate learning this incredible water sport and we promise that you will reap the rewards just after a few weeks of paddling.
